I have many years experience installing, upgrading and configuring servers and workstations, under both linux and Windows operating systems, although I have been using, and recommending, free open source software and operating systems for the last 10 years or so. I use Ubuntu linux on my own systems.
I am able to provide cost-effective networking and server solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, for email, databases and the World Wide Web.
I 'speak' several programming languages, including C, HTML, PHP, java and SQL. As a consequence, I am able to construct standards-compliant, database-driven web-sites, although as you can see, I am no great shakes as a graphic designer!
I will advise on cost-effective anti-virus solutions for Windows systems, and check the security of wireless and other networks, and secure them if necessary.
